I thought it would be best to compile a blog post with links to different websites that stock music can be acquired from.
If you are a bride and groom getting married and planning on having a wedding video or slideshow, there are some legal points that you need to know.
First of all the rules and laws are very different between the USA, Australia, and Canada.
Australian clients can enjoy their choice of any commercial music providing the video is used for domestic use (which a wedding comes under) and the Amcos domestic use licence is held by most videographers, however the American clients in the United States of America do not have such a fortunate licencing option.
In the United States wedding videos need to feature stock music for their highlights and edited segments.
Stock music is music created for the purpose of using online, without having to pay thousands of dollars.
For example if you wanted a famous song in your wedding video, the fees would be in the tens of thousands which is out of most clients and videographers budgets. Not only are the costs absurd, but the red tape and paperwork are convoluted to.
So where does that leave the American client looking for a professional wedding video?
It leaves you with a few options thankfully!
I have compiled a list of websites that you can purchase music from online for use on your wedding video, corporate video, and so fourth!
Finding music you like for your wedding photography slideshow, stop motion, or wedding video can be an overwhelming task, so I’ve compiled a list of sites for you to browse and choose from.
Triple Scoop Music is a well known American website with music to licence for weddings and blogs.
Here is a link to the wedding instrumental music, but they have more music than this. This is just my favourite of the selection. On average songs for weddings and domestic videos are $60USD.

I personally have had an account with the next two websites for almost a decade now and have been very happy with their service, their pricing, their selections, as well as their licencing. Songs purchased for wedding, blog, promo videos are $39.95 for a single song, or $49.95 for a song with a loop set. Their policy is ‘pay now use forever’ so there is no limitation to how many times you reuse a track that you’ve paid for.

The second of the two sites I have been using for over a decade is https://www.stockmusic.net/
Similarly to Premium Beat, their prices are pay now and use forever. They charge $39.95 for a track but they have ‘sets’ that save you a lot of money long term. For example this “reality tv” set is $129.95 and comes with 15 tracks, which makes each track less than $9 each!

Pond5.com is another site but I have not used it yet.
