Sky Simone has a unique style of wedding photography which is inspired by a mix of photo-journalism in a fashion editorial manner. Influenced by fashion photography, music album covers, and fine art photography, Sky puts 100% effort into creating the most captivating images possible at each and every wedding. Sky considers herself an artist, and treats each wedding as if she needs to take the best photograph that she has ever taken. Your wedding day should be expressed in a way that is unique, and full of beautiful imagery.

So how does Sky work together with the couple on a wedding day to create beautiful wedding photographs? Firstly Sky identifies that each and every couple is different and unique, and something that demonstrates this individuality should be expressed in the imagery. Sky has questions she asks her couples, and she encourages her couples to engage in brainstorming their individual characteristics and intricacy.
When Sky works together with a couple, the way she usually goes about doing things is mixing a bunch of styles to create a truely epic documentation of their your lives together. The styles that Sky mixes together when she’s either working alone or with a team combines a combination of techniques. Carefully choosing locations with the client, lighting for the environment, capturing the quirky and interesting, as well as the fun and crazy, and focusing on getting all of the solid classic photographs that stand the test of time.
I will be encouraging my couples to create “Dream Board PinBoards” and will do a blog post shortly to demonstrate this. Sky encourages her couples to pin their ideas and dreams to pinterest, not because she doesn’t have enough ideas of her own, but rather on the contrary.. Sky has such an abundance of ideas racing through her mind, and gets very excited about all of them. However Sky likes to know what YOU as a couple desire to achieve, as it’s your wedding day. Having a dream board helps you communicate exactly what the feel and style that you like the most encompasses.
When you book your wedding photography (or video, or both) with Sky Simone during the intial consultation we talk about everything that’s on your mind, and everything that you know about your wedding so far.
When Sky sit’s down with a couple, the first thing she asks is “So tell me everything you know so far, about your wedding!”
When we get together again it’s usually for your engagement photo session. Depending on how long you book your wedding photography before the wedding, Sky likes to do the engagement session at least 4-6 months before the wedding. The engagement session is important because it helps us to get to know eachother. Your wedding is not a production line, and the utmost of care should be taken with YOU as a couple, as well as your photography. Most people naturally take a little time to warm up to the camera and relax. You won’t see Sky Simone setting an alarm and telling you the photoshoot is over. Sky wants to bring you out of your shell, make you laugh, get emotionally, and really capture what’s so captivating about you. This process also helps to create more natural images on the wedding day, as you’re more relaxed with your photographer.
Finally in the weeks leading up to the wedding, we would usually catch up together again to go over your run-times for the day, any locations we’re going to for photos, and of course your dream board.
