Elise + Lindsay had a lot of fun on their photo-shoot between the wedding ceremony and the reception at Peel Manor House in the South-West winery region of Western Australia. After the ceremony ended, the plan was initially to do the family portraits before doing the bridal party photographs, however it began raining rather heavily. We had no way of knowing if it was going to pour, then clear up, or if the initial rain was the clearest that we were going to see. We opted for leaving the family photographs to the reception, and doing the bride + groom portraits immediately after the reception. One of Elise’s relatives had an app on his phone to show the direction of clouds and storms, and it looked like the storm was going to get more intense. That meant I was working under a lot of pressure to get as many beautiful and fun bride + groom photographs for Elise + Lindsay in as short amount of time since we were unable to predict the weather incoming.
I just love this Grecian statue at Peel Manor House. I couldn’t help but utilize it for a few photographs. The statue is quite a juxtaposition to the windmill behind it.
This background at Peel Manor House reminds me of the Australian Outback. It has a rustic and wilderness feel about it that is unique to Australia.
Here are a couple of fun shots of the entire bridal party. Jaiden couldn’t help laughing when asked to ‘skip’ to get some natural giggles.
Lindsay + Elise were very natural in front of the camera. It was a lot of fun taking these wedding photographs.
One of the guests runs away with the bride in his arms. He was kind enough to help Elise + Lindsay get from one photo location to another whilst staying as dry as possible. Elise had taken her shoes off.
I asked Lindsay to sneak up on Elise and make her giggle, without her knowing.
Elise became quite ill during the photo-shoot, as she has been unwell for a couple of months, so after the laying down shots in the gazebo, she went to have a lay down. I had wanted to do the below photograph with the bride and groom, but since Elise was resting, I decided to create the shot with the bridesmaid and best man.
And here are the pretty portraits. Normal and handsome photographs without the crazy masks.
It’s Hula Hoop time. After a rest, Elise went to the bathroom, and I snuck in and asked if she wouldn’t mind a candid looking posed shot with Lindsay in the shower 🙂 It makes no sense for a bride and groom to be fully clothed and standing under a shower, but that’s half of the fun of the photograph. Elise shows Lindsay how to take a pool shot before walking into their reception.
Thank you Elise and Lindsay for allowing me to capture these creative shots for you. I hope you love them as much as I loved creating them.
xoxo Sky Simone
